One of the greatest treasures of Celtic art and inspiration is the Book of Kells. The superbly illustrated manuscript of the Middle Ages is now housed at Trinity College in Dublin. Detailed interlacing knotwork features throughout the manuscript, just as it adorned metal work and sculptured stones of the ancient Celts. The continuous interlacing was not only decorative but conveyed to the Celts a sense of eternal life.
